Clockify alternatives: time tracking for teams that have outgrown the free five seats

Prices checked between and

Clockify’s free tier is genuinely free for up to five users, which is why so many teams start there. The sixth person moves the whole team to a per-seat plan, and time off, approvals and kiosk clock-in each sit a tier higher. A Clockify alternative for a growing team should track time against projects, run leave and approvals, handle idle time honestly, and feed payroll — and stop charging per seat. Here are the options that do, with published prices.

Why teams look past Clockify

Usually pricing and packaging, not the product

Clockify is time tracker and timesheet app from CAKE.com, known for unlimited free tracking with paid extras. The reasons a team shops around are almost always about how it is sold.

  • Free covers five users; every plan above is billed per seat.
  • Time off, approvals and invoicing start on Standard; budgets and labour cost on Pro.
  • Attendance and leave are add-ons to a timer rather than the record payroll runs from.
  • Idle handling and screenshots are per-user settings, not organisation policy.

Orbiz AMS

What AMS covers — and what Clockify does that it does not

What Orbiz AMS does for a team leaving Clockify, and the two things Clockify does that it does not. Keep both in view when you decide.

Included in AMS

  • Clock in and out from the browser, with typed breaks and the project you are working on
  • Leave requests with balances and approvals, and one holiday calendar for the organisation
  • An idle policy set once for the organisation and decided on the server, not per user
  • Biometric device import, optional screenshots, and exports that run as background jobs
Everything AMS does

Where Clockify is ahead

  • Enterprise identity: SSO, SCIM, a custom subdomain, audit log and data-region choice
  • The CAKE bundle: Clockify with Pumble chat and Plaky project management as one suite

If either of those is the reason you use Clockify, keep it. The case for Orbiz is the platform around the tool, not a longer feature list.

FAQ

Questions about leaving Clockify

Does Orbiz AMS have a timer like Clockify?

Yes: clock in and out from the browser, choose a break type, switch the project you are logging against, and see the day’s segments. Inactivity can pause the clock after a threshold your organisation sets, decided on the server from the browser’s evidence, and a member may undo a pause if policy allows.

Does AMS do leave and approvals?

Yes. Each leave type carries an entitlement set once for the organisation, requests go to approvers, members see their balance before they request, holiday calendars are per organisation, and attendance corrections are requested and approved with both versions kept. Reports export as server-side jobs, so a year of records is not cut off at a page.

Is there a desktop app or browser extension?

Not yet. AMS runs in the browser, including on a phone; a desktop app with a tray timer and a browser extension are planned but not available. Clockify, Toggl Track, DeskTime and Hubstaff all have desktop apps today, which is the honest trade-off.
