About Orbiz

Business software built to run the company that built it

Orbiz started as the set of tools Innovation Insight needed to run its own agency and could not buy as one product: a careers page that did not cost a recruiter seat, a time tracker that fed payroll, a project board that knew which retainer an hour belonged to, a password vault the whole team could use. We built them on one account model, ran the company on them, and then opened them to other small teams.

Where it comes from

An agency's own tools, opened up

01

Why ten tools and not one more subscription

Every small company we know runs on the same stack: a board tool, a time tracker, an HR system, a file drive, a password manager, a screen recorder, and a spreadsheet for payroll. Each is good at its job. Together they are 10 user lists, 10 invoices billed per seat, and an offboarding checklist nobody finishes. The cost that hurts is not the licence fee. It is that the tools do not know who your people are, so every fact about a person is typed in more than once and every departure is a hunt.

02

What we did instead

We built the tools we needed on one account model: one login, one set of roles, one database per organisation. A person is entered once, in HRMS, and every other tool resolves them from there — attendance clocks against that record, Trackline costs their hours, Ledgr pays them from the timesheet, Vault shares with them by name. When they leave, one switch ends their access everywhere. We ran Innovation Insight on it first, which is why the rough edges got fixed before a customer met them.

03

How we price it

Per-seat pricing punishes the thing shared software is for: inviting everyone. So Orbiz is one flat price per organisation, set by headcount band, with unlimited members and every tool included. Adding an intern does not change the bill, and neither does switching on payroll. We publish what the equivalent stack costs at list price on the features page and commit to at least half of it.

How we build

Six rules the product is held to

Not aspirations — the constraints every change is reviewed against, on the marketing site as much as in the product.

One product, not a bundle
A feature added to any tool has to look and behave as if it had always been there. Same components, same roles, same isolation.
Say what it does, not what it might
A coming-soon page says coming soon. A comparison table keeps the rows we lose. A country we have not verified is not a preset.
Your data is yours, structurally
A database per organisation, credentials encrypted before they reach us, and a full export on request. Isolation is architecture, not a filter someone remembers.
No seat tax
Shared software stops being useful the moment people avoid inviting colleagues. Unlimited members is a design decision, not a promotion.
Built by the people who use it
Innovation Insight runs its own hiring, attendance, projects and payroll on Orbiz. When something is wrong, we are the first customer to notice.
Ship, then tell
Improvements land continuously and are announced when they exist. A capability a customer relies on is never removed without notice and an alternative.

Who answers

A small team that answers its own support inbox

Orbiz is built and operated by Innovation Insight, a software company that ships products for clients and runs itself on the platform you are reading about. There is no separate support organisation: the message you send through the contact form is read by someone who works on the code, which is why the answer is usually specific. The people who write the guides on the blog are the people who built the features they describe.
