BambooHR alternatives: hiring and HR systems without a per-employee price

Prices checked between and

BambooHR is a mature HRIS, priced per employee per month with a $250 monthly floor for the smallest companies and payroll, benefits and time tracking as add-ons. A company looking elsewhere usually wants three things: a careers page on its own domain with a real pipeline, employee records with documents and onboarding, and a bill that does not grow with every hire. Here are the options, with each vendor’s published price, and what BambooHR still offers that a small-team alternative does not.

Why teams look past BambooHR

Usually pricing and packaging, not the product

BambooHR is hRIS for small and mid-sized companies: employee records, hiring, onboarding, time off and performance, with payroll and benefits as add-ons. The reasons a team shops around are almost always about how it is sold.

  • Per employee per month, with a flat starting rate of $250 a month for 25 or fewer.
  • Payroll, benefits and time and attendance are quote-based add-ons.
  • The Core plan allows five open jobs.
  • Compliance training and benchmarks are the higher tiers’ reason to exist.

Orbiz HRMS

What HRMS covers — and what BambooHR does that it does not

What Orbiz HRMS does for a team leaving BambooHR, and the two things BambooHR does that it does not. Keep both in view when you decide.

Included in HRMS

  • A no-code careers page on your own subdomain, with no cap on open jobs
  • A candidate pipeline as list or kanban, scorecards, and AI screening with résumé parsing
  • Interviews by Google Meet, video link, phone or on site, with feedback forms
  • Employee records, document requests, onboarding checklists and asset tracking
Everything HRMS does

Where BambooHR is ahead

  • A compliance training library and HR benchmarks for turnover and engagement
  • In-house payroll with tax filing and benefits administration as add-ons

If either of those is the reason you use BambooHR, keep it. The case for Orbiz is the platform around the tool, not a longer feature list.

FAQ

Questions about leaving BambooHR

Does Orbiz HRMS have a careers page and applicant tracking?

Yes. A no-code careers page on your own subdomain with an indexable URL per job, a candidate pipeline with configurable stages and interview scheduling, structured feedback per interviewer, online assessments from a question bank, and employee records with documents and guided onboarding. There is no limit on open jobs.

What about payroll and benefits?

Payroll is Ledgr, another tool on the same platform and included in the flat price: timesheets from attendance, salary sheets from your own rules and tax tables, payslips, claims, loans and settlements. Benefits administration and insurance brokerage are not offered; Orbiz is not a US benefits platform.

Is HRMS suitable outside the United States?

Yes. Leave policies, holiday calendars, document types and payroll rules are all configured per organisation rather than assumed from one country, and the copy and interface are English. Tax regimes in Ledgr are tables you enter or import for your country.
