AMS for retail & e-commerce

Who is on the shop floor right now, from the punches at the door, for every store

A retailer with several stores has several attendance systems: the device at each door, a spreadsheet per manager and a monthly argument about hours. Shifts change weekly and seasonal staff come and go. AMS imports the punches from each store’s device, maps each PIN to a person once, and gives every manager a live view of their store with breaks and leave, from records that go straight to payroll.

Included in every plan. No per-seat charge, no per-tool upsell.

In practice

What AMS does for retail & e-commerce

01

Punches imported per store, PINs mapped once

Export from each store’s fingerprint or card device and import; every PIN is mapped to a person one time, so a new starter’s punches land on their record from their first shift. A punch for an unmapped PIN is flagged, not lost.

02

Break types and a live view per store

Staff take typed breaks — lunch, short break — and managers see who is in, who is on break and who has not arrived, per store, without leaving the till.

03

Leave requests with the balance shown

Annual, sick, casual, probation and unpaid leave carry entitlements set once for the organisation. A December request reaches the store manager with the remaining balance already worked out, so it is answered from the entitlement rather than from memory.

04

One holiday calendar, reports per store

Public holidays are entered once per organisation and identified as such on attendance, so Ledgr can pay them by your own rule. Attendance and leave reports run per store and per period, and export as jobs for the whole quarter.

Where AMS hands off for a retail team

AMS clocks against the record HRMS keeps for each store’s staff, and the approved hours and leave are what Ledgr pays from — including overtime and unpaid leave by the organisation’s own rate rules. A correction approved by the store manager is already in payroll.

Questions retail teams ask about AMS

Can staff clock in on a shared tablet at the store instead of a device import?

Yes. Clock-in works from any browser, so a shared tablet at the back office is a clock-in point. Many stores use both: the device at the door for arrivals and the tablet for breaks and corrections.

How are overtime and Sunday or holiday hours paid?

AMS records the hours; how they are paid is a rate rule in Ledgr — a multiplier on a base you choose, per organisation. Hours on a public holiday are identified as such so the rule can treat them differently.

Can stores in different regions have different public holidays?

Not within one organisation: the holiday calendar is set once and applies to everyone. A chain whose stores observe different regional holidays runs each region as its own organisation. A regional manager is given permissions to see every store within an organisation; employees see only their own attendance and leave.
