HRMS for education & training

A careers page for the school, a pipeline for the panel and a staff record for the hire

Recruiting a teacher is a panel process: an application, a lesson observation, an interview with three people scoring different things, and then a set of pre-employment checks before a start date tied to a term. Schools and training providers run it through email and a spreadsheet. HRMS publishes the vacancy on the institution’s own careers page, runs applicants through the stages the panel defines, collects each member’s structured feedback, and turns the appointment into a staff record with the documents the role requires.

Included in every plan. No per-seat charge, no per-tool upsell.

In practice

What HRMS does for education & training

01

Vacancies on your own careers page

A careers page at <your-institution>.orbiz.team/careers, with an indexable URL per vacancy, so a maths vacancy is found from search and applications arrive in the pipeline rather than the office inbox.

02

Panel stages with structured feedback

Define the stages — shortlisting, lesson observation, panel interview — and collect structured feedback from every panel member so scores are comparable across candidates and the decision is documented.

03

Pre-employment documents requested against the record

Once appointed, the record requests the identity, qualification and clearance documents the role needs; the new member of staff uploads them from their own login and the administrator sees what is still outstanding.

04

Onboarding checklists per role

Teaching, support and administrative staff each get a guided checklist — policies to read, systems to access, induction sessions to attend — tracked on the record so the start of term is a list, not a scramble.

Where HRMS hands off for a school team

The staff record HRMS creates is the one AMS clocks against, the one whose leave balance follows the term calendar, and the one Ledgr pays. Marking a leaver inactive at the end of the academic year ends their access everywhere and keeps their record, with its documents, on file.

Questions school teams ask about HRMS

Can governors or external panel members give interview feedback?

Yes. A panel member is invited as a member with a role that can see the pipeline for that vacancy and submit feedback, and nothing else. There is no per-seat charge, so an occasional external panellist costs nothing to include.

Does HRMS handle safeguarding checks?

It requests and stores the documents your process requires against the staff record and shows what is outstanding, so the check is evidenced before the start date. It does not run the check itself or connect to a checking service; that remains your process.

Can we run recruitment for several schools in one trust?

One organisation is one institution with its own careers page and database. A trust with several schools runs each as its own organisation, or one organisation with departments per school, depending on whether the schools share staff and policies. Both are common; we can advise on which fits.

Want HRMS set up for your school team?

It comes with every plan, alongside the other tools. Tell us your team size and we set up a working organisation for you to try.
