Filespace for education & training

Schemes of work and policies in folders the institution owns, not in the head of department’s drive

A department’s teaching resources live wherever the head of department put them, and leave when the head of department does. Policies every member of staff must follow sit in an email from September. Filespace is a drive scoped to the institution, with a folder per department and a folder for whole-school policies, shared with the right staff at the right permission, so the resource is where the next teacher can find it.

Included in every plan. No per-seat charge, no per-tool upsell.

In practice

What Filespace does for education & training

01

Folders per department, shared with the department

Each department’s schemes of work, assessments and resources in its own folder, shared with its teaching staff. A new teacher is given the folder on day one alongside their onboarding checklist.

02

Whole-school policies, View only for everyone

Safeguarding, behaviour and health-and-safety policies in a folder every member of staff can read and only the leadership team can edit, so the version staff open is the approved one.

03

Recent activity and a recoverable trash

A revised scheme of work appears in recent activity for the department; a resource deleted in a tidy-up is restorable from the trash rather than rebuilt over the holidays.

04

Quotas, not seats

Storage is allocated per member by an administrator within the institution’s allowance, so a large body of part-time and supply staff does not mean a per-user storage bill.

One platform

Where Filespace hands off for a school team

Filespace follows the institution’s members and roles, so a member of staff marked inactive in HRMS loses access to every folder at once while the resources stay where they were. Documents HRMS collects for the staff file sit behind the same login in the same organisation-scoped storage.

Questions school teams ask about Filespace

Is Filespace for pupil or student work?

No. It is the institution’s staff drive — resources, policies, HR paperwork. Orbiz has no learner-facing tools, so student work stays in your learning platform.

Can supply or agency staff be given access to a department folder?

Yes. Invite them as a member with a role limited to the folders they need; access ends with the membership. There is no per-seat charge, so a rota of supply staff costs nothing to keep on the platform.

Where is the data stored and who can see it?

In object storage under your organisation’s own prefix in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region, served through signed URLs, readable only by the members and roles you have granted. Dedicated or region-specific hosting is available on the Enterprise plan.

Want Filespace set up for your school team?
